BLOCK OF THE MONTH NOVEMBER 2018

BLUE AND WHITE SQUARES

These are the same blocks we made August last year in black and white.
Our contributors were very generous and contributed a huge number of blocks.
They have been so useful for making many quilts and can be presented
in SO many ways, creating quite different looking quilts.

Blue and white blocks can be used for Recipients asking for favourite sport teams represented
by these colours and for Sailors and Airmen and Airwomen asking
for their Service to be honoured.  They mix with many other Blocks of the Month to
create quilts showing Nature or as a background with other subjects as the main item in the quilt.

COLOURS

BLUE - STRONG BLUES PLEASE.
They can be dark or medium but not light or pale blue.
They can have a pattern printed in white, grey, light blue or black.
Geometric prints and patterns are good.
Bali prints or tone-on-tone prints are good.
Plain blue fabric is good.
These are a few of my blue fabrics that I considered using.
Prints of aircraft or Navy images are good.

WHITE
Plain white fabric is OK.
Tone-on-tone white is great as the texture makes the blocks interesting.
Prints on white are great.  The printed colour can be grey, black or blue.
Geometrics, spots and patterns are good.

PLEASE USE ONLY 100% COTTON FABRIC
