Weekly Dispatches 15 August

One sleep to go!!!!

Over two hundred families have been counting down the days along with the crew of HMAS Darwin and finally tomorrow is the big day - Darwin returns.  I am looking forward to being there, camera in hand, to welcome them home as well.  My husband is coming too so I have warned him that he will be the Duty Photographer for the day so hopefully we will have lots of great photos on Monday night's post.

In the mean time we are now hard at work trying to complete the requests for HMAS Toowoomba. There are still four requests from Toowoomba that are yet to be allocated to quilters.  We only have till the third week in September to get these in the mail in time to be confident that they will be received safe and sound on board whilst the crew is deployed.  Anyone interested in taking one on please let me know.

Request 1  -aqua, basketball, computer gaming, dirt rally racing - quilt only
Request 2 - purple, motor sports, movies - quilt only
Request 3 - Basketball, Miami Heat - quilt only
Request 4 - Broncos colours or Manchester United - quilt only.

In response to my call for more laundry bags we have had a bumper week
with 91 laundry bags heading off.
Well done!

683 quilts and 873 laundry bags for 2014.

3054 quilts and  4719 laundry bags in total.
