We are going to do something a little different
today and have decided that it’s time again to do something a bit special. We
currently have an opportunity to add to our list and around our lovely nation we have amazing
volunteers who love to sew for Aussie Heroes.
If you are a serving fulltime or reservist member in
a medic or health professional role, or you know someone who is, then here is
the deal.
You need to EMAIL (no messages or texts please) on
friendsofAHQ@gmail.com with Essential details to include Name, Rank, number of
years served, PMKEYS, Postal address and your preferences. Please bear in
mind that your quilt will be designed and made by a volunteer and they are
limited to what they have access to, especially given the restrictions imposed
on us by COVID-19. We cannot guarantee you will receive exactly what you request
but they will do their best.
This offer is open indefinitely and
we will advise when it is closed. We want to allow enough time for all
our health / medical personnel to see it and respond.
If you have received a personalised
quilt during a previous deployment then you will not be eligible to receive a
quilt with this offer however, we are very pleased to offer a new personalised laundry bag
to all our medical personnel to convey our current message of thanks for your
service in these uncertain times.
We are hopeful that this will give us the chance to
recognise some of those who, using their training, wisdom, skill, empathy and
patience, are caring for others. This offer is simply our opportunity to recognise
the valued contribution of this group of ADF personnel and so they know their
service counts as well. We have been creating laundry bags for those on OP
Covid Assist duty and now wish to also acknowledge our medics and health professionals
involved with the Covid Assist task and for their care and treatment of others
at all times.
Lastly, whoever is requesting a quilt will have to
cover the cost of postage ($25 for a quilt / $10 for a laundry bag) as we
cannot ask the volunteer to cover those costs as well as their time and
materials. The funds will need to be deposited into the Aussie Hero Bank
Account and a receipt forwarded to Aussie Heroes by email before a quilt /laundry
bag is constructed. Bank details etc will be forwarded via email once the
request has been received and accepted.
This offer does not have an end date
but we will advise via another post on Facebook when the offer is closed if
need be.
Postage contribution must be effected prior to quilt
and/or bag being made.
