Visiting the Pig Battalion....

On Thursday last week, Ellen, who was kind enough to put me up and drive me around whilst I was in Adelaide, and I visited 7RAR Regiment.  It was a great opportunity to meet some of our recipients.

These two young men were our escorts for our visit and this photo is taken in the Pig Pen... off to the right, out of shot, is a canteen and this handsome looking boar is right in the middle of the area.  Woe betide anyone who stands on him.  That is strictly forbidden.

All the fellows we met had not necessarily received (or requested quilts) but most of them knew about us as someone they knew had received a quilt or laundry bag.  Everyone appreciated them.

This fellow had received an awesome quilt from Su J with a picture of his dog on it and he made a point of coming up to say hello.   He loves his quilt Su and a couple of other blokes commented on how cool it is.

Ellen and I came away thoroughly impressed with the manners and bearing of all the soldiers we met.  We certainly could not have been treated any better and everyone asked us to keep doing what we are doing and made a point of telling us how much they appreciate it.

Till next time.... keep spreading the word and happy stitching!
