From 20 - 29 November, SoliderOn and
Adventurous Training Wing (ATW) delivered a resilience and adventurous training
program called Exercise BATTLE BACK (EX BB) for a group of 14 serving and
ex-serving ADF personnel. The adventurous activities included abseiling and
climbing, sea kayaking, canyoning and caving. All activities were tailored to
the participants, some of which are in a recovery and rehabilitation phase.
EX BB focused on empowering participants to
build a sense of achievement and purpose, enable goal-setting and develop a
community of like-minded people.
With
the help of AHQ, each EX BB participant received a laundry bag and quilt. This
gesture by AHQ was very much appreciated and strengthened the social context of
EX BB, demonstrating to participants that their service to our nation is
respected and appreciated.
Each quilt and laundry bag was received
with smiles, with a jostles for the last Ninja Turtle laundry bag pattern. The
quilts went onto cover stretchers in Goulburn during two tough days of
canyoning and caving - reminding participants of the support and warmth around
them.
On behalf of EX BATTLE BACK participants,
SoliderOn & ATW - much thanks to AHQ for the wonderful gift of support and
love that came through the quilts and laundry bags.
