What a great week we have had.... 

So far for 2017 we have sent off 1576 quilts 

bringing our total since we started to over 8,219 quilts

&
 

2953 laundry bags for the year 

which brings us to a total of 16,130 since we started...

Just check those numbers again....

over 16,000 laundry bags have been made and sent... 

WOW!!

A couple of years ago we were asked to make some quilts to be used in the hospital in Iraq on the beds in the two wards where our coalition patients are treated. Well those quilts have done their duty and it is now time to freshen them up so new quilts have been made.   As there are two wards, a Kiwi named ward and an Aussie names ward, we have done four quilts in each theme. 

 These first 4 quilts are the Aussie themed quilts...   These were put together from blocks you all sent in by the ladies who sew in Penrith and then were quilted by Keryn...

  

And these quilts will go in the Kiwi ward and were made from blocks sent to Lynn by the crew that do the blocks for our Mystery Quilts.   Lynn made the quilt tops and they were then quilted by Covers of Love.

We have also sent another quilt over to the Middle East to decorate a Reading Room. This is where the troops read stories, either over skype, or they record them so that their children can listen to them before they go to bed.   This quilt hangs in an area jointly used by Aussies and Brits, hence the dual flavour of this quilt.
