Hi everyone
This month the Block of the month is a 4 patch Jacob's Ladder.
The fabric to use for this month's block is a light tone-on-tone print (cream, white, ivory) and a darker tone-on-tone print (NO PINKS PLEASE AND NO MULTI-COLOURED PRINTS PLEASE)
The term tone-on-tone refers to a printed fabric that is made by combining different shades and tones of the same colour. Tone-on-tone fabrics often appear to be solid when viewed from a distance, but their printed motifs become recognizable on closer inspection.
You will need :
* Four 3in squares (light tone-on-tone print)
* Four 3in squares (darker tone-on-tone print)
* One 5 7/8in square (light tone-on-tone print)
* One 5 7/8in square (darker tone-on-tone print)
Use a pencil to mark a line diagonally on the wrong side of the 5 7/8in light tone-on-tone print square.
Stitch 1/4in either side of the marked line, then cut along the marked line to create two halves.
Press the two half-square triangle units just created with the seam towards the darker fabric. These should measure 5 1/2in square. Trim any excess fabric.
Stitch the 3in squares together into pairs and press the seams towards the darker fabrics.
Sew the pairs together into two, four patch units, the seams will lock at the intersection.
Layout the half-square triangle units and the four patch units into two rows of two. Stitch the blocks in each row together and press the seams in opposite directions.
Sew the two rows together to complete your block. Press the seam downwards.
That it. Hope you had fun !!
As usual post your blocks to me
