Hi All
In this last week there have been more volunteers want to join us and
that is awesome. If you look at the list and need help choosing please feel
free to let me know. I know it can be overwhelming
and I am more than happy to give you some advice and find a request that you
will be comfortable with doing.
Everyone else, I hope this finds you all well and coping with the restrictions
we are all living with to keep us safe from COVID-19. I think we are heading in
the right direction and if we can just hold the course, stick with our
I-SEW-LATION, we will get through this sooner. To me that just means we need to stay inside
and sew a bit longer… buy maybe I am biased.
We are also fortunate to have our ADF members available to be deployed
to carry out a myriad of tasks that need to be conducted and we are going to do
our bit by letting them know that their services are appreciated.
Operation COVID-19 Assist Laundry Bags
Last week I called for laundry bags for those ADF members who are part
of Operation COVID-19 Assist. We can’t
forget our deployed folks but hopefully we can look after these guys and girls
as well. We have done really well so far but we still need more bags.
We are still getting a lot of lovely feedback from sailors on HMAS
Toowoomba. Crew members are commenting
that the one thing they are looking forward to is their mail and that is where
we are helping them, a lot! If you are
sewing something for HMAS Toowoomba please make sure that your quilt or bag is
in the mail no later than 15 May and earlier if you can.
Priority Quilts
Requests 9 to 13 inclusive are our priority quilts. They need to be in
the mail no later than the end of May. It would be great if you could take one
of these ones up this week. Thank you!
The post by date for all items on this list is 8 June please. If you
cannot make that date please let me know.

tight for you, there are options, just email me to discuss.

If you cannot get to the Post Office and do not have someone who can go
for you, then I still encourage you to keep sewing. You never know,
there may be someone in your area who can pick up your mail from your front
door (no contact) and deliver it to the PO for you. We can at least try

We still need some
more bags for our wonderful ADF members who are on duty as part of COVID-19
Assist. If you would like to jump on
board and make some of these bags then please let me know. You will be given
an address to post your laundry bag/s to but you will have to cover the cost
of postage as postage will not be free. The cheapest way to post will be via
pre-paid satchel. Please advise me how
many bags you would like to make so that I can make sure that we send the
number of bags requested and no extras. We need to be organised about this.
