I thought it was time to do a post for all the events over our Annual Thank You Weekend so that you have one place to refer to for details so here goes....
PHOTOS
PLEASE NOTE... WE WILL HAVE SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN IN UNIFORM AT THE DINNER.
IF YOU WISH TO TAKE PHOTOS WITH THEM YOU NEED TO ASK IF THEY ARE HAPPY TO HAVE THEIR PHOTO TAKEN.
NO PHOTOS MAY BE PUBLISHED ON SOCIAL MEDIA OR ELSEWHERE WITHOUT CHECKING WITH ME PLEASE AS SOME MEMBERS PREFER TO PROTECT THEIR PRIVACY.
IF YOU WISH TO PUBLISH A PHOTO PLEASE CHECK WITH ME FIRST. NOTE THAT INCLUDES PEOPLE IN THE BACKGROUNDS OF YOUR PHOTOS.
ADDITIONALLY I WILL HAVE TWO PEOPLE TAKING PHOTOS ON THE NIGHT. THOSE PHOTOS WILL BE PUBLISHED WHEN I HAVE TIME AFTER THE DINNER. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO ASK FOR COPIES BUT PLEASE BE PATIENT WITH ME. I WILL POST THEM AS SOON AS I CAN.
Friday afternoon... The Australian War Memorial Tour
Time : 2pm. You will be finished in good time to stay and watch The Last Post Ceremony at 455pm if you wish.

Friday night.... The Quilter's Gathering.
Time : 7pm At the ADFA Sergeants Mess, this is located at Building 7 on Tobruk Rd, Campbell. It you have registered and paid to attend you should have received an email with details. Parking is available out the front of the mess and also behind the mess off of Milne Bay Rd. Please ensure you do not park in a spot which has an allocated sign for a specific individual.

The night includes speakers, both recipients and a professional quilter. Tea and coffee will be served.
You will need to eat dinner before you come.
Show and Tell - you are welcome to bring something for Show and Tell. Time may be limited so one item each please. This does not have to be an Aussie Hero Quilt. It can be something you have made yourself and not necessarily a quilt. Please let me know if you plan to bring something.
If you are bringing a Rwanda laundry bag it will be handed in on the Friday night as well and we will also collect the Malaysia Laundry Bag you have been asked to make as well. If you are not coming along on the Friday night please bring to the Saturday event and find Robyn Green (Rwanda Bags) and Jenny Allen (Malaysia Bags) on the seating plan to give them to.
Quilts and Laundry Bags for Display at the Dinner
These need to be handed to Jan-Maree, or placed into the Ikea bags indicated, on arrival. Kristie will be ready to take charge of them so please find her and hand them to her on arrival. Sandy, if you like I can put you in touch with Kristie beforehand and maybe you could hand yours over at the hotel to save hauling them all to the Friday function. Thank you.
Please don't forget to add a rod pocket big enough to hold a thick dowel... you can tack it or pin it on if you don't want to sew on a permanent one.
I really need some more personalised laundry bags as most of what we have coming are random ones and I need people to see examples of the lovely personalised bags you make. Can anyone bring some please? Note, whatever you bring for display goes home with you at the end fo the night please. There is limited room in my car.
Items to pass to Jan-Maree
If you are bringing things to give to me please warn me in advance as I have to make sure that I have room in my car. You would be surprised how much STUFF I have to cart around on these weekends.
Saturday.... Breakfast for the Newbies with Jan-Maree
Time :0830 at Poppy's at the Australian War Memorial. Order your meal on arrival and then join us at the table for a get to know you chat. You will be finished in plenty of time to catch the bus if you are going on the Tour.
Saturday..... The Bus Tour of Quilt Shops and Lunch
Time: 0930... the bus will be available to board at 0930 and it will depart at 10am SHARP. We cannot wait fo stragglers so please let your Bus Boss know if you are running late.
You have been divided into two groups and allocated to a Bus Boss (sorry I loved the alliteration), either Toni or Sandy. We need to split the group for lunch and also for the quilt shop next to the cafe to make it manageable.
Be aware that Cafe Injoy serves delicous food in very large quantities. You may want to buddy up and share a meal... just saying.
I think all the shops you are visiting are having specials just for you so make sure you wear your name tags (given to you just for the tour) and have fun! Please be prompt getting back on the bus so that you return to Poppy's between 1530 and 1600 as arranged otherwise there will be an extra charge.
Reminder... As stated above, if you have a Laundry bag with you for Malaysia please find Jenny Allen and pass it to her. If you have a Rwanda bag that you were not able to hand in on Friday night please find Robyn Green's table and pass it to her. Both ladies will be on the bus.
For those driving, there is ample parking under Poppy's. You should have just enough time for a quick break before it is time to don the glad rags in time to get to the dinner.
Saturday ......THE ANNUAL THANK YOU DINNER
Time: 1830... please do not be late, we have a very FULL schedule planned!! Trust me you do nit want to miss out on any of it.
You will need to find your table on arrival so you know where you are sitting. Tables are allocated, seats aren't.
Don't forget we will have a cash bar and we are selling raffle tickets for a beautiful quilt, a gorgeous hand made shawl and a super cute and cuddly mohair bear. You might want to carry some cash with you.

Sunday..... Brunch at Poppy's....
A last chance to catch up with people you might not have seen all weekend and to exchange details with all the new friends you willl have made over the weekend., oh and to grab something to eat to fortify you for your trip home.. Brunch is from 9am. Again there is ample parking underneath Poppy's.
