Have you booked your tickets for this year's Annual Aussie Hero Quilts Thank You Dinner?
It is shaping up to be a fabulous night with plenty of recipients for the volunteers to meet.
We have great auction items, both for the live auction and the silent auction.
There is a beautiful quilt being raffled, the winner drawn on the night.
The fabulous Lancer Band will be playing.
We have some great speakers for both the Friday night Quilters' Gathering and the Dinner at Old Parliament House on the Saturday night.
If you have missed the details of the functions before then you can find them all here..
LAUNDRY BAGS
It has become a tradition that every volunteer attending the dinner brings along a laundry bag with them. This year the bags will be collected on the Friday night (if you are not coming along on the Friday night then please bring on the Saturday night).
The bags from this year will go to Malaysia for the next intake of Rifle Company soldiers. For that reason I am asking for masculine or gender neutral bags. Please, as usual, include a letter from yourself inside the bag and please also include a copy of my covering letter. You will need to email me for a copy of it. PLEASE DO NOT include treats or extras as I have to package these bags for postage and cannot manage the extra bulk/weight.
It has also become traditional that we display quilts and bags made by the various volunteers who attend. All quilts and bags on the request list from the request list dated 30 September onwards are suitable to bring to the dinner. You will need to add a rod pocket to the back of your quilt. If you do not know how to do that please email me for instructions. These can be temporary if need be.
All quilts to be displayed at the dinner need to be brought along on the Friday night and I need to you advise me if you intend to do so as I only have room for a certain number of quilts. Laundry bags can be brought as is and will be displayed on tables.
It is going to be a great night and I am looking forward to spending time with those that are able to attend.
Till next time... keep spreading the word and happy stitching!
Jan-Maree xx
