The Aussie Hero Quilts Annual Thank You Dinner... Recipients and supporters most welcome...

On 3 November the Aussie Hero Quilts Annual Thank You Dinner will take place from 1800 at the RMC Sergeants’ Mess in Canberra.

The primary purpose of this function is to thank the volunteers for their tireless efforts in support of our Australian Defence members throughout the year.

To date, the Aussie Hero Volunteers have sent off over 9800 quilts and over 18500 laundry bags, including over 1000 quilts and 2000 laundry bags just this year alone.
This is an opportunity for the volunteers to meet some of the recipients and grateful defence members in a social setting to enable them to gain a greater understanding of the value of their efforts and how much they are appreciated.

In addition to thanking the volunteers, we will take the opportunity to hold both a live Auction and a Silent Auction as well as a raffle in order to raise funds to cover the running costs incurred in keeping Aussie Heroes going.

Prizes include a Remembrance themed quilt, the rare opportunity to commission a personalised quilt and laundry bag as well as some limited edition handmade camouflage bears.

The dinner will include entrĂ©e on arrival, followed by a sit-down buffet main and desert.  Drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.

Seating will be allocated to ensure volunteers are able to meet some of the recipients present.

Everyone is welcome, and recipients especially so.  If you support our endeavour to support the troops then we would love to see you there.

We have several other events available to volunteers over the weekend and all the details are listed on the booking website. Might I recommend the tour of RMC if you like to see the amazing military history of the base and the brunch on Sunday at Poppy’s is a must do event… a great way to wind up the weekend.\

If you would like to join us for the evening tickets are available via the following link.

Ticket sales close Thursday 25 October.

We hope to see you there.

Cheers

Jan-Maree xx
