Yesterday I had the pleasure of heading into HMAS Kuttabul to speak to a group of sailors to tell them about Aussie Heroes.
Imagine my surprise when one of the sailors turned out to be one of our passed recipients from 2012. Not only that but her mother-in-law has sewn for us as well. Another was on HMAS Canberra when we visited to hand out 400 laundry bags.
Our recipient from 2012 even featured in the first ever video we were sent which was filmed in the Sinai in 2012... you can check it out here
She was able to find the video on her phone and showed it to the others who were there. It so happens that I am still in touch with Chelle, our lovely post mistress from that video, so I took a photo of everyone watching the video and a pic of our lovely recipient and I and shared both with Chelle!
It is always such a pleasure to meet those we send our bags and quilts to.
