Last week I received an email from Louise from the Dolphin Quilters from Old Bar in NSW and she had a good story to tell that I just had to share. This is what she said....
"Just
want to let you know that I met one of our recipients from HMAS Toowoomba this week - he received
the attached koala quilt back in August 2014.
Was
on his way to Sydney with his family where he has been posted for the
next 18 months and realised he would be going past Old Bar where his quilt came
from. They came in to stay the night here and he went, with the
quilt, to the post office and the library to see if anyone could tell him
how he could contact the Dolphin quilters.
He
was sent down to the Bowling Club where they know me and he obtained my phone
no and called me. I went to the club and spent about 30 minutes with
him. Was just so nice to meet and chat to him and to think of the trouble
he had gone to to find me/us to personally say thank you. - my
ladies were thrilled when I told them today."
How awesome is that! Told you it was worth sharing!
Till next time....................keep spreading the word and happy stitching!

ReplyDeleteAwesome to read. Just goes to show that Aussie troops not only appreciate your work and generosity, but that they also have good manners, too.
