Chris's Sewing Day Up Date

Up Date on Chris's sewing day.
Chris sent me some info but I didn't get it in time to include it last time so it is time for an update right now.

"We started at 10 & had Elaine, Julie-Anne, Janine ,Julie, Cherie, Ruby & myself. Kimberley & Di came after work. We sewed all day & into the night until 10pm.
Our group now has about 17 quilts either completed or WIP’s. Most of the participants are members of my sewing group, The Hilltop Quilters.
Some have completed their quilts since the sewing day & some are still working on them. I will be quilting them all. It has been a rewarding experience.
During the day we solved the problems of the world of course. As well as listening to the old war songs from the ‘Songs that won the war”
Dinner was Potato & Bacon soup, salad platter & Sticky Date Pudding, which delivered by Elaine’s husband Tony.
We will probably have another day later in the year".

Well done ladies - looks like and sounds like you had a great day!

Anyone want to sew with me in Canberra?

I can't promise you Sticky Date Pudding!  Boy I wish I could!  Yum!
But would any one like to come and join me for a sewing day in Canberra?

We have been invited to come and sew at the Duntroon Community Centre on Saturday 4th of August.  This is a regular Saturday Craft Day for the centre and it will be open from 0900 till around 1430 (that is two thirty for you non-military types) although I have been told that arrangements can be made for us to stay longer if we wish.

I will bring some of the fabric that has been donated.

The Centre is located on Gymkhana Drive in Duntroon.  You don't need ID to get on the base so everyone is welcome.  Tea and coffee provided.  BYO lunch and snacks.

Please note - they are a nut free centre as a 3 year playschool runs there during the week and a couple of the children are highly allergic.

Hope to see some of you there - leave a comment if you are interested.

Till next time.............keep spreading the word and happy stitching
