Operation Fabric Accumulation.....

Saturday's Bus trip by Heather and Lesley.......

After a satisfying breakfast at Poppy’s, with the ‘Newbies’ getting to know each other and J-M, it was time for rollcalls from our Bus Bosses, Sandy and Toni. ‘Leave no (wo)man behind.’
Operation Fabric Accumulation was to commence....
Apologies to Col, the coach captain, for the volume of 30 odd women, all eager to contribute their finances to the ACT economy.
There were 3 stops
  1. Addicted to Fabric - good to see the trailer provided outside to hold all our purchases. Long queues seemed to be the order of the day.
  2. Calico Patch / Injoy Cafe - at this stop, we divided into 2 groups - half heading for the Cafe for a generous lunch and the others heading for more material therapy. With the EFTPOS machine having a meltdown and with massive heaps of fabric yet to be measured and cut, the Operation seemed to be at risk. The last meals were quickly packaged and we were on the road again.
  3. Hobbysew- with funds dwindling, a valiant attempt was yet made by all to successfully complete the financial commitment to the Operation. With the time running out, the scissors and rotary cutters slicing, the Coach waiting, EFTPOS running hot, our ladies were cool, calm and collected under such stressful conditions.
Once back in the coach, bubbly, happy conversations flowed with ‘show and tell’ of purchases being the main topic.
Operation Fabric Accumulation was a roaring success!!!
