Hey all
On any week there will be requests on the list that require badges, crests,
logos, colour patches and/or nternational flags. In just about all cases I can either print the
required for you, can send you an embroidered version to piece in or whatever
is needed is easy to applique. Please
don’t be intimidated by those requests… just ask if you are unsure. See the
info below which will expand on some of the requirements.
Here is some more info that you might find handy.
Australian National Flag (often called the ANF) - you can buy panels at Spotlight – ask for
them if you can’t find them.
Afghanistan/Iraq flags – I can send you the central red panel of the Afghanistan Flag and the central white panel of the Iraq Flag. All you need to do is to add the strips of plain fabric either side.
Rising Sun, RAAF Crest, Navy Crest, Coat of Arms, RAEME and other badges
– ask me about them, I can often send you some to include if your request needs
them.
Rising Sun
RAN or Royal Australian Navy Crest
RAAF or Royal Australian Air Force Crest.
If they want some text and it is too much for you to applique, I may be
able to get it embroidered and sent to you to be sewn on the quilt or sewn into
it. Just let me know what words you want, what colour fabric and
what colour thread… keep it simple please. Also include your
address in the email to save me time please.
I can help you with football colours and logos of teams etc. Just ask
me. Most of the logos are simple or you can just add team names if you want to
… team colours are enough also.
Go Eagles...... Hee hee
One other feature that is often requested is military vehicles or military personnel. Again, I can most likely help you with these, sending you silhouettes to applique on your quilts or bgs.
Military Artist Ian Coate has always been generous with his support.
I hope this will help to make it easier for you to choose the next you would like to sew and that this answers a few of the questions that I know many of you have about the badges ad crests.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Till next time... keep spreading the word and happy stitching!
