Happy Tuesday Friends!
Welcome to the first blog for September and Spring!!
Hope you haven't been affected too much my the winds over the last week or so. The town I live in gets very windy about this time of year anyway but no where near as badly as lately. The only good thing is that I haven't felt guilty for staying in and sewing. LOL
Only a couple of messages today but still always awesome to read everyones thank yous, so grab a cuppa, sit back and relax while you soak up some well deserved gratitude.
Only 52 sleeps until the Thank You dinner. Hope you see you there!

Dear Kathy W,
Thank you so very much for my beautiful quilt - I love it! The rose fabric is a lovely touch and matches the roses we can see from the front window perfectly. I've had to drap the quilt over my rocking charit to make sure the dogs don't claim it and either shed hair or make dirty footprints on it. My mum was also in awe of how much work and thought went into it and was touched hat someone put so much effort and care into a quilt for a stranger, so thank you again!
Your card choice was perfect too - Claire Ishino is one of my favourite artists (maybe because she does the artwork for 23rd St Distillery over in Renmark!)
Over here in Canberra, its finally starting to warm up, ever so slightly. My partner and I will be over in SA in December to see his family in the Barossa. Adelaide is a great city and must be great to get out on the golf course.
We enjoy getting out with the dogs, spending time in our veggie garden and going to the beach (when it's a bit warmer).
My family are all in Sydney, so I appreciate the travel time and effort you woudl make as well to see your family. I am sure they are thankful for it and happy to see you when they can.
Thank you again Kathy - really appreciate your gift and lovely card.
Take care
G’day Emma G,
Want to start this off by saying thank you so much for the incredible laundry bag, as well as your excellent letter (oh, and the timtams too…)! As a quick reminder, I was the one with the dragons/galaxies/silly theme. Honestly I was blown away by the results – I’m a huge fan of custom styled items as they have so much more heart and personality to them, and I think it’s even better when the artist gets a bit of creative play with it. I’m glad you thought my idea would be fun – I tried to not take it too seriously because (as you’d know) the military can always use a bit of wackiness to balance out the other side. I’m no sewing expert (or beginner) by any means but I have to say the quality and style of the LB is really amazing – the differences between the inside and outside, the name logo, your own signature tag, it’s all just great. I’ve got it on display at the moment in my home office because it’s far too nice to just be used for laundry (though I’m sure it’ll find its way into my bag when I go away on trips)!
I hope you decide to keep up with making these – your work is really lovely, and it’s awesome to read how you’ve made so many and want to pursue a proper quilting machine. Some of the results I’ve seen just from our own deployment team were incredible. You and the AHQ team do such an amazing thing for us –some of us even got into stitching/knitting (small steps…) while we were deployed, so I reckon it’s a little bit infectious considering your own history with it. While I’m not as creatively talented, I also wouldn’t put it past myself that some time down the track I feel the need to help give back and you’ll find me piecing together something quite patchwork… though I doubt it’d be to the same standard as the rest of AHQ!
Thanks again, and happy quilting
Kind regards,

Dear Mrs Jan-Maree B,
Dear M-A H,
I am emailing to express my thanks personally to you for allowing me to have the opportunity to receive the Aussie Hero Quilt. I truly appreciate all that you do, including your kind thoughts and efforts for the quilt to be passed on to me.
I was so touched and truly honored to have the name personally sown on the quilt. The message and intent behind the quilt production is so beautiful and again, I truly appreciate it.
Thank you so much! Take care.

Until next week keep your letters, emails and photos coming in.
