BLACK AND WHITE SQUARES
These two simple blocks will make stunning quilts for our Heroes.
Here are just two of the ways they can be assembled.
They can also be assembled in many ways to feature the Requests from our
Recipients that we love to include in their quilts.
FABRICS
Jan-Maree has asked us to make BLACK AND WHITE blocks this month.
The BLACK part of the two blocks can be plain black or black tone-on-tone. Uncomplicated prints on the black fabric are OK but they really need to be BLACK
The WHITE part of the two blocks should be mainly white. It could be plain white, tone-on-tone white prints or black or grey prints on the white background. Please keep in mind that the majority of our Recipients are men, so prints that are not flowery or "pretty" will work best.
All fabrics should be 100% cotton.
Please...DO NOT TRIM BLOCKS
All blocks will be trimmed back to different sizes to fit the different layouts for
individual quilts and so any irregular edges will be trimmed away.

Thank you for making blocks for quilts for our Aussie Heroes.
Every block goes into a quilt and your contribution is valued greatly.
Watch the Blog in the coming months to see your blocks appear in the
beautiful, personalised quilts made by volunteers who live in Coffs Harbour.
The quilts, made with love, DO make a difference in the lives of those
Defence Force personnel who sometimes live in challenging and colourless
places, doing a very hard job away from family and loved ones.
So thank you, thank you, thank you.
Happy sewing in this chilly weather and best wishes,
Sandy
