Well it has been a huge week but a massively productive one...
On Tuesday I had the priviledge of presenting a quilt to a recipient who missed out on getting hers whilst she was deployed. One of the first things she said to me was
"Your quilts and laundry bags are everywhere over there...
and they are so appreciated and loved".
On Wednesday I had a meeting at HMAS Harman to discuss the dinner and finalise many of the plans and progress a few more. It is going to be a very special night. Guests number around 120-150 with quilters flying in from Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and even Western Australia!!! There will be quite a number of uniformed guests and many of them are recipients.
We will have at least two surprise Auction prizes.... can't tell you what they are and I am sorry but if you are not there you will not be able to bid for them.
On the Wednesday afternoon a few of us met at the home of Jackie Turnbull. Those of you who attended the morning tea at RAAF Glenbrook will remember the lovely Jackie. There may be a daytime sewing group starting up in Canberra so let me know if you are interested.
Now for the show and tell for this week.... some awesome quilts and bags to show off too...
