I thought it was about time I did a Happy Mail post. I think I have left a few out from previous weeks and I will try to include them next week. I am a bit busy today as I am preparing to go away for the weekend. I booked this weekend away as a change of pace for myself.... before the fire!!! I am attending the Berry Quilt Retreat. It is one of those retreats where you do a class whilst you are there. I could have done a quilting class, how predictable would that have been, but I didn't want to start a project I would not have time to finish and did not want to learn a technique I would not use. So.... I am doing a jewelry making class. I have made jewelry before ..... long before AHQ days... and enjoyed it. I figured it would be a good choice as I had all the tools I needed and lots of beads and buttons (oh soooooo many buttons!!!) to use. That was until my office was destroyed along with everything else we lost. LOL
Such is life. I have gathered all I need and am heading off tomorrow morning. I will be stopping off for lunch at Randwick Barracks on my way. I have a quilt to deliver and 110 laundry bags... if you have made and sent laundry bags to me here there is a good bet they will be in the back of my car on their way to Randwick tomorrow. The regiment will be glad to get them for their deployed guys and girls too.
I am giving a presentation about Aussie Heroes on Saturday night so will still be spreading the word. I already know that a number of Aussie Hero Friends will be there, in fact the organiser is one of our Friends too.
Anyway, what you need to know is that I will be answering emails but not as regularly as usual. On Monday I will post the request list on the blog and then will drive home. I will answer the emails when I get home.
For now here are the latest blocks we have received in the mail. These black and white ones are going to looks striking when made up into quilts!
