Well, we are baaaack…. Well sort of…
Before
anything else…Please please, please keep an eye on the blog. This is my most effective way of keeping you
all informed with what is going on and I really need your help supplying info
when asked so that I can get the request list and other data sources up to date
after the fire.
I am not
yet able to write posts every night but I am working towards it. Talk about things happening in threes… first
our house burnt down, then one of my sons was diagnosed with Glandular Fever
and then last week my other son tripped down some stairs and now has crush
fractures of two vertebrae. Thankfully
the fractures are very minor and so he just has to be careful and give himself
time to heal.
So things
come in threes and that is our three.
Now time to concentrate on re-building Aussie Heroes and our home. One step at a time… one day at a time….
So bear
with me…. The regular routine will return…. In time..
So now to the request list……
It has been a few weeks and I am a bit rusty so I hope that I have remembered everything.
I have
decided to send the request list out on the blog to make sure that everyone can
see it and also because Lisa K has not quite finished putting the list of
quilters together for me yet. She is
nearly there and deserves a big, huge thank you for all her hard work, as does
Jess who also did a heap of work for it as well.
Two bonuses
this week….. HMAS Darwin’s last newsletter for this deployment ( I think) and
HMAS Darwin’s last newsletter. They are nearly home. I have not attached
the newsletter as it is 2MB in size so please let me know if you would like to
see it and I will ask Joan to forward it to you.

PLEASE note the date and let me know if you have any problems getting your
quilt/LB away on time. In fact if you are going to be late posting it please
let me know BEFORE you post it.
PLEASE,
PLEASE, PLEASE copy the ENTIRE line if you wish to nominate for a quilt or laundry
bag. This is really important to make sure that neither you nor I copy
the wrong number which could lead to me giving you the wrong details for
specific request.

If you have
a quilt or a laundry bag underway that does not match any of these requests
please let me know. I have options for you.
Remember,
you do not have to include everything they have asked for.
Footy quilts do not need to have the logo or even the team name. Using the team
colours is all that is required. Simple is perfectly acceptable. A number
of these requests have given you favourite colours as well as footy teams or
other hobbies and interests. It is fine to make a quilt using
their favourite colours and include only one of their interests. It is
fine to keep it simple.
Please please please do not send me pics of laundry bags and quilts and ask me to allocate them... if you can't find someone one the list that you think works with what you have, don't worry. This is only part of the request list. If you can't see a request that suits your quilt or bag please be patient. Hopefully by next week I will be that much further along but at the moment, with everything else going on, I am struggling to keep up with emails. If you have random bags or quilts please just hang on for another week or two... I will get to you and your goodies will find good homes.
If there is
more than one request on this list that you would be happy to do I suggest that
you send me a list of requests and tell me how many you want to be allocated….
Ie one of the following please…. There are always a few requests that
everyone wants to do (and I can never pick them) so if the first one you ask
for is taken then I can allocate another from your list if I have a list.
A
quick note… even if you receive the request list every week, please take the
time to skim over this preamble. I edit it to make it relevant every week
and I know that many of you are not reading it by the questions I am being
asked. It takes you just a minute or two to scan it but takes me considerably
longer to read and answer the emails I receive ….. please give me a hand in
this. Your assistance is appreciated.
