This month I have found an interesting block for us to do. Not sure what the official name is but I have called it Pointing in.
As always no girly florals and no pinks please!!
You will need 3 different fabrics and a scrap of solid. This should include a light tone-on-tone for the background, two prints and the solid.
From the light fabric you will need:
four 3 1/2in squares
four 3 1/2in x 6 1/2in rectangles
From each of the two prints (Fabric A and Fabric B)
two 3 1/2in squares
two 3 1/2in x 6 1/2in rectangles
From the solid
one 3 1/2in square
Layout your block as below
Sew the 3 1/2in light fabric squares together with the same size Fabric A and Fabric B squares according to the layout above, then press the seams to one side.
Stitch a 3 1/2in x 6 1/2in Fabric A or Fabric B rectangle to the upper or lower edge according to the layout above and the picture below.
Return the stitched squares to your layout, then sew the squares and rectangles together into three rows.
Press the seams in the first and third rows to the left and the second row to the right. Sew the rows together locking the seams together so they sit flat. Press the seams downwards
That's it all done. Your block should measure 15 1/2in square.
