September BOM - Stephanies Block

This month Stephanie has put forward a block for us to make.  We can't seem to remember what it is called so if anyone knows please enlighten us.

Here's one

Here's four together

As usual we ask you use NO pinks, oranges or florals in this block please.
Use any red you like as long as there are no other colours in it: tone-on-tone fabric, plain or striped are OK.
If you want to make a quilt top using this block you will need to make 66 blocks (11 rows of 6 blocks. Just add a 3in border to bring it up to size. Here is a picture of some made up into a quilt.  Here are a few quilt tops Stephanie has made, ours will look different as we will be doing different colours around the red pinwheel sections.

Here are three quilts Stephanie has prepared earlier.

You will need:

2 x 2 1/2in x 3 1/2in rectangles of a red fabric
1 x 3 1/2in x 4 1/2in rectangle of one coloured fabric
1 x 3 1/2in x 4 1/2in rectangle of a second coloured fabric

Stitch a 2 1/2in x 3 1/2in rectangle to the top of each of your selected fabric 3 1/2in x 4 1/2in rectangles.  Press seams towards the red fabric.

Take one sewn 3 1/2in x 6 1/2in section and flip it upside down, then stitch together with the second 3 1/2in x 6 1/2in section. Press seam one way. Completed block is 6 1/2in square.

**IMPORTANT TO SEW TOGETHER EXACTLY AS BELOW OR THEY WILL NOT MAKE THE PINWHEEL WHEN JOINED ***

That’s it…. So simple. So send in 1 or send in more it's up to you. Please don't sew them together and post them, we will mix and match when they arrive.
