Happy Mail Wednesday

Greetings all!  Welcome to Happy Mail for this week.
This is laundry bag week, or it might as well be.

Bev sent me up an AWESOME parcel of tea towel laundry bags.  This first one was hiding in my line cupboard from my Navy days.  Memories.......

Any South Aussies in need of a laundry bag?

Or maybe a Tasmanian?

How about an ex-pat Kiwi?

I have to show you the cats on the back of this one.  What fun!

This next batch of laundry bags were made by Sandra in QLD

 and Jan

I even received some of the BOM blocks for this month.  I still think these are really fun.  Dorothy sent in a whole batch but here are a representative four.  Fun!

And just as much fun - these wonky nine patches.

Millie created this BOM block

and Lynne McK created these two

Kirsty sent in these three lovely quilt tops - the photos of the first two just do not do them justice!

The pink hearts show up much more in this one in real life.

And last but not least, a gorgeous completed quilt from Millie.  Another of my favourite scrap quilts just taken to the next level by the green and gold stars!

For those of you who have sent in blocks for our latest Mystery Quilt THANK YOU.  I will catch up on all my admin soon and will send out an email with photos etc as soon as I can.  I think I am only waiting for ONE more block and then we are good to go.  Joanne from QLD has volunteered to put this one together and I think it is going to be a pretty one.

I am planning another Mystery Quilt in the near future - do you want to make more stars or would you like me to choose a different block?

Till next time...........keep spreading the word and happy stitching!

  2. Wonderful to see all these photos.
I have a question ... I've made a couple of tee towel laundry bags and because the linen like fabric is not as tightly woven as the fabric I use for LBs I backed the tee towels with calico before sewing it all together.
Now I wonder if everyone else uses the towel like a piece of fabric and just sew a frame around it to make the right size,
or if they sew it on top of the laundry bag fabric (which would give 3 layers including lining)
or if, as I did, they fuse it to a backing?
