It is so rewarding when a company like the Byron Bay Cookie Company reaches out to a small charity like ours to say that they would like to support us with a donation of 500 of their cookies, ANZAC Biscuits no less, as a token of their appreciation for our support of the Australian Defence Force. WOW.
Byron Bay Cookies is part of the family-owned business, Rinoldi, which is one of Australia’s oldest food manufacturers, established in Melbourne in 1878.
Baked in Byron since 1990, their cookies have been served during Qantas flights for more than 20 years. It does not get much more Australian than that. Both the recipe and the packaging of their ANZAC Biscuits are approved by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
This gesture of support for Aussie Hero Quilts is not only encouraging for us, but it also tells our Australia Defence Force Members that their service matters. We want to send a sincere thank you to the team at Rinoldi, including Owner and Director, Bill Quayle, and Marketing Manager, Emilie Emond.
The donation was accompanied by a heartfelt personal letter from Bill Quayle, acknowledged the continuing work of Aussie Hero Quilts in caring for Australian servicemen and women.
We will soon distribute the biscuits to servicemen and women on deployment. Our quilts and laundry bags are a unique gesture showing we support and appreciate our defence force members. For those far from Australia’s shores, receiving any little touch or taste from home can have a powerful impact reminding them that although they are far from home, they are never far from our thoughts.
Adding these special Aussie biscuits to the quilt and
laundry bag packages will add a sweet finish and show people care. Thank you! ❤️
