AHQ Dinner 2025 Wrap up and Photos.

Finally, I am getting time to share this post. I hope you like it. These are the photos taken on the night of the dinner this year.

First up, don't you love these little beds? These were made by our lovely friend, Crystal and you can imagine how long it took him. These go on the centre of our tables each year.

On the night the guests were surrounded by some of our beautiful quilts and bags. I dont have a record of who made each quilt so please excuse me for not sharing the names of the makers.

We had a number of speakers during the night, starting off with our Principal Army Chaplain who opened the night with Grace.

The night would not have been the same without our wonderful Madam of Ceremonies, the one and only Pello!

Ex-Navy Veteran Liam spoke on behalf of our major sponsor, Lockheed Martin Australia.  As a recipient, he talked about what it was like for him to receive a quilt when he was on deployment.

Luke Gosling OAM, MP also attended this year, for the second time.  He is a great supporter of what we do and spoke about some of the reactions he has witnessed from recipients he has seen receive quilts.

Of course I spoke too.

Our main guest speakers were Erin and Alex Hale. A few years ago Alex was injured by an inatentive driver using his mobile phone whilst driving. Alex became a paraplegic and he and his wife spoke about how this changed their life and how receiving quilts from us at such a difficult time in their lives made a big differnce.

In fact, it is not exagerating to say that they had all of us in tears.

You can see how busy the room was.

These two lovely people are Joan and Alan B.... our wonderful embroiderers.

If you would like a copy of any of the photos of our tables please send me an email.

Bobbie S with Alex and Erin.

Julie and Ruth S with representatives from the Army Netball Team.  Ruth made all the Army Netball themes laundry bags using pieces from retired uniforms.

Warrant Officer of the Air Force and the Chief Force with Anne Hnr.

Myself and my husband with the Chief of Air Force and the Warrant Officer of the Air Force.

Kristie H with the quilt she made

Philomena had a rare opportunity to surprise someone with a quilt... I do love a good surprise.

We are really lucky to have the award winning auctioneer Alec Brown to help us out with our auction again this year.

Ben helped us out again this year by holding up the auction items, in this instance, the lovely quilt that Cath Hpr made.

And this is a great photo of Ben holding up the main auction prize, in this instance, the Right To Commission a quilt.   He did a great job.

Bev L made the wonderful auction quilt and was able to have a photo with the lucky winner.

Lesley was also able to be photographed with the couple who won her quilt. This quilt is heading off to the US as a gift for a brand new grandbaby.

Chief of Air Force was the very happy winning bidder for Cath Hpr's fabulous quilt.

Now for a close up all most of the lovely quilts on display! What a great selection.

Another of our wonderful embroiderers, Inge, was able to get a photo with the winners of the cushions she made for the auction.
