Happy Tuesday Friends!
I can't believe we are already in February. It only feels like yesterday that it was Christmas Day. LOL
Grab a cuppa or cool drink, sit back and relax while you soak up some well-deserved gratitude from our messages.

Dearest Cath Hpr
I am so sorry for the delay in writing to you to send a huge thanks for my most beautiful, incredible quilt and laundry bag. I was just so surprised and honoured to receive such a beautiful, thoughtful parcel. It came to Macquarie Island via the French Naval Ship L’Astrolabe when we had a small change over of personnel and mini-resupply in December. Just in time for CHRISTMAS!
I also loved receiving your beautiful letter with so much wonderful news, I feel like I now know you and Zoe, Aloha, Ruby and Hope. I so sorry to hear about Hope. As you know I have two mini-schnauzers, they are Ernie and Gertie and they are my fur children so I know the importance of our four legged family and the devastation when they are taken away from us too soon. But it is lovely that you’re willing to put your heart on the line again for Ruby - she sounds gorgeous.
I was also so moved to hear the story of your son, what an amazing man to go through such difficulty and then to come out the other side and find a new career.
I have enjoyed studying the process you went through to build my quilt. Just incredible that you found all those amazing, appropriate materials from so many different places and also included your own painting prowess! That you understood and integrated so well my work and love for Antarctica and the Sub-Antarctic into the quilt is just so special. The one part that I think is my favourite is the penguin appliqué made with the Navy camouflage material - bringing my past life in the Navy and my current life together in one cute image. I have shown my team the quilt and they were as amazed as I was by the time and thought that went into the making of it; it certainly has turned out to be a conversation starter as you hoped.
Cath, I think you are just amazing. The work you have done over the past 7 years making all those special quilts and laundry bags is incredible and I hope you understand just how honoured we all feel when we receive a quilt from the Aussie Hero Quilts! I’ve secretly hoped that I might one day get a quilt of my own - and now I have one! Amazing! I feel so very lucky that you have spent so much time and effort making something so beautiful for me, for a stranger. You are so kind and thoughtful.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Warmest regards

Hi Jan-Maree and Beverley F,
I hope you are both well and having a good week.
I wanted to share with you how incredibly humbled and moved I was when my Dad and friends presented me with the Hero Quilt over the weekend. Your beautiful work and the recognition you bring to veterans are truly appreciated.
I am at a loss for words to express my gratitude for your kindness and generosity. Thank you both for your service to the veteran community.
My last posting finished in December 2018, and I was discharged in December 2019, which feels like a lifetime ago now. In 2020, I co-founded a Technology Group. While we may no longer wear uniforms, we continue contributing to the broader Defence organisation through our professional service offerings. We pride ourselves on being an Australian and veteran-owned business, with over 90% of our 38 employees being former or current (part-time) serving members. We strive to incorporate the best parts of military culture into our company, such as mateship, camaraderie, loyalty, trust, and teamwork, with a sprinkle of the humour and larrikinism Australians are known for.
Beverley, thank you for your letter and for sharing insights into your life. I extend my gratitude for your husband's service and the sacrifices you and your family have made to support his three decades of service. I, too, hope to be as well-travelled as you in the years ahead.
Thank you both again for everything.
What you both do is incredibly special and deeply appreciated.
Thanks,

Good afternoon Su J,
May I please express my deepest gratitude for the absolutely amazing quilt that I received on board this morning!
It is an absolutely amazing keepsake and one that I will truly treasure for the rest of my life as a reminder of my service and most importantly, time in Command of our fine people.
The work that you (and those like you) do for Aussie Hero Quilts is incredible and rest assured it truly touches each and every person that is lucky enough to receive something made with such love and care!
From myself, and everyone on board HMAS Arunta I wish you a safe, prosperous and wonderful 2025.
Yours with the deepest gratiude
Good Morning Susan P,
Firstly, thank you very much for my laundry bag! The detail is amazing and I love the design!
It sounds like you have a very lovely family and a busy schedule. I really do appreciate your time and effort.
I hope you had a good Christmas and New years and managed to have some nice down time with the family.
A little about me,
I have been Serving for nearly 9 years now with the Royal Australian Navy. I am an electronics technician and specialise in our weapon systems (the cool stuff).
I recently have posted back to shore for some time alongside for some respite. Last year I was posted to HMAS Arunta (a FFH) and was deployed for Operation Resolute.
It was a great deployment but very hot being located up in the Northern Australian region.
My family are all located back in QLD, and my partner is employed by the RAAF. She lives in Newcastle, whilst I am located in Sydney, so thankfully it’s only a 2 hour drive to see
each other. My hobbies consist of Rugby, gym and athletics. I play league for the ADF and Navy teams and rugby union for the navy team and have thankfully flown around the world to represent.
France and England were my favourite where I got to play footy in the snow! (freezing cold).
Once again thank you very much for the laundry bag and bringing a smile to my face!

Dear Ruth S,
Thanks so much for the beautiful laundry bag, a magpies warble is one of the best sounds from home as I have three that frequent the trees in my backyard.
Your efforts in making such a beautiful gift are greatly appreciated, it has become a cherished part of my kit.
Thanks so much,

Hi Toni D,
Happy New Year! Just wanted to say a huge thank you for taking the time and effort to make my customised laundry bag, and also for not just any Tim Tam, but a DOUBLE COATED ONE TOO!!
I received my laundry bag at the end of my 2yrs and 8 months posting on my very first Naval Ship (HMAS Childers). It was pretty special to have opened the parcel.
Thank you also for sharing a bit of your journey. I’m humbled and privileged to have you make my laundry bag.
Thank you again, and have a very prosperous New Year!

Good morning Colleen S,
I've just received my Laundry bag from you and I absolutely love it. Thank you so much. I apologise for the late reply but I've only just recently returned from holidays after a busy year! I hope you had a fantastic Christmas and new year.
Thank you so much for writing to me. I was extremely impressed you spent 12 years as an Army reservist. Thank you for your service.
It sounds like you're living a very wholesome retirement life. I can only I hope I have a similar retirement when I get to that point in my life.
A bit about me-
I've been in the Navy for 3 years following in my father's footsteps who served 25 years in the Navy so he's extremely proud of me. I spent my years after high school working in restaurants and working my way up to managing a busy restaurant. After a while I decided to join the Navy and have had no regrets- so far haha
In my spare time, I love to keep fit, go camping and the "occasional" beer at my local pub with my friends.
This year will be another busy for me on HMAS Sydney which I'm looking forward to. Thank you again for my laundry bag and thank you for what you provide to the Australian Navy. I know many people appreciate what you and your team do.
Kindest regards,
***
Hi Emma G,
Thank you very much for your laundry bag. It's excellent.
I really appreciate the time and thought that has gone into the design.
The laundry bag has been wonderful and has come in handy a lot on this trip. I have only got three weeks left now so I’m definitely looking forward to coming home. Thanks again.
Regards

Until next week keep your letters, emails and photos coming in. Tuesday's would be so totally boring without them!
