Today is the tenth of October. It was on this day six years ago that I sent that first email to the wife of a deployed soldier in Tarin Kot asking what I, or my quilt group and I could do to make her husband's deployment easier.
The answer than came back said laundry bags would be wonderful and quilts would be great if we could manage it.
This was the first photo of a recipient that we were able to publish on our blog. You can see that the quilts we sent back then were nothing like what we send today.
We have grown as we have gone along and from the most humble beginnings we have now sent over almost 6000 quilts and nearly 16000 laundry bags.
Who knows where we will be in 12 months time. That is part of the fun but whatever the specifics I know we are going to keep going.
Happy 6th Anniversary everyone. Thanks for coming along for the ride.
Till next time..... keep spreading the word and happy stitching!
Jan-Maree xx
