Request List 31 August 2020

31 August  2020 Request List

Here we are again, it’s Monday!!  Hello!  And  here’s this week’s Request List.  Every week I put this list together I am amazed at the variety of requests.  I  hope there’s a choice on this list that you’d like to sew.....I am looking forward to receiving the emails accepting the interesting themed requests.

Thank you! Thank you! Thanks goes to all who’ve been able to add a C-19 laundry bag or two (or more) this past week to send off to the ADF team deployed on Covid Assist.   We are very pleased to be providing laundry bags for those serving our community with this very real need.  If you can, please put together this week a fun and colourful laundry bag for someone serving.  We’ll send you the address for dispatch  (we are waiting on the next addresses to send the bags to) and would love to see a photo in return to add to the Weekly Dispatches blog post! If you’ve not sewn an Aussie Hero laundry bag before but would like to give one a try here’s the link to the Instructions on the AHQ blog > http://aussieheroquilts.blogspot.com/p/laundry-bag-specifics.html

Any queries you might have, please don’t hesitate to contact via the AHQ email as per usual with any queries and we will assist you from there.  We may not know the answer but it will be our pleasure to research and get back to you.  You may find your query is answered by me or perhaps Alex, Catherine, Courtney or Lisa. We will be ‘on duty’ in rotation.  I do wish however to bring to your attention the link to info regarding posting off your laundry bag or quilt  - click here for up-to-date info > http://aussieheroquilts.blogspot.com/p/posting-information.html.  If you have a quilt underway but are concerned you may not complete it by the ‘post by’ date, please let me know;  an adjustment may be available.

Don’t forget, if you look at today’s Request List and need help choosing, please feel free to get in touch to discuss, we will be ready to reply and offer guidance by email. If you need a crest etc  we may be able to post  embroideries / printed fabric images or email some of these to you. Helpful info may be gleaned here

http://aussieheroquilts.blogspot.com/2019/07/information-post-for-those-that-sew-for.html    I look forward to seeing the photos of completed quilts and LBs when they are ready to post off.

It is likely that I will respond to your emails this evening when you respond to select a quilt or laundry bag to sew.  I have commitments today that will make it unlikely for me to attend to emails during business hours.  But please don’t delay, send your email through, say “Hi” 😊 and let me know what you’d like to sew this week.

I am looking forward to connecting with you.

Cheers,
Clarissa
Working with Alex, Courtney, Lisa, Kylie, Catherine and Jan-Maree...and the team  of other wonderful  AHQ volunteers.

P.P.S.  Don't forget to check out AHQ on the Blog, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

Priority Quilts

Requests  10 - 20 are our priority quilts this week and need to be in the mail by 22 September or earlier, thank you. Can you help with these?

You may be aware of postal delays holding up timely delivery of mail.  Despite that problem, the post by date for all items on this list is 5 October  please or earlier J.  If you cannot make that date, please let me know.

PLEASE note the date and let me know if you have any problems getting your quilt/LB away on time. In fact, if you are going to be late posting it please let me know BEFORE you post it.  Also, if this time frame is too tight for you, there are options, just email me to discuss, thank you.

FOR ANY NEW VOLUNTEERS

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE copy the ENTIRE line if you wish to nominate for a quilt or laundry bag.
For example….

Decoding The Columns
The first column is the theme or preferences requested.
The second column indicates the gender of the recipient.
The third column is as follows.

B=both quilt and laundry bag (feel  free to nominate to JUST do the laundry bag if you wish)
Q= just a quilt

HAVE YOU BECOME A MEMBER OF A

BLOCK SQUAD?

Many of you will know that our beautiful Sandy use to run with the Block of the Months and whilst she can no longer co-ordinate this we have introduced

BLOCK SQUADS

Of course Sandy was so organised that one person would never be able to do what Sandy did, so we had to come up with a concept that works with five Block Squad Captains and five Block Squads.

If you haven’t been allocated to a Block Squad and would like to contribute (because sometimes life is just too busy to make a quilt). Or if you have just never thought about making blocks to contribute or you would like to become a Block Squad Captain,

Please email Cath Harvey at cath.ahq@gmail.com and she will put you in contact with your new Block Squad Captain.

Happy Sewing!!
