This blog is dedicated to encouraging people to make quilts and laundry bags to send to Aussie service men and women currently serving overseas and to express our gratitude for their service. We care about the people - not the politics or the mission.
Our quilts are not works of art, but works of the heart.
Unfortunately due to family commitments I have to cancel the Penrith sewing day this Sunday the 14th at Penrith Patchwork. Have no fear though, we will be back ready to go in August on the 11th.
YAY! Our first July BOMs! Love them!
These ones were sent in by Jill Maree.
How happy are they!
Talking happy! Check out this quilt top, also by Jill Maree - lots of happy prints
And a couple of peek a boo surprises as well - see the frog above - he is actually hidden by four Prairie Points
And here is the second sneak peek a boo - love the look on that bird!
Jill Maree also sent four awesome cheery laundry bags!
Jill Maree also sent some binding - very handy
And finally one more quilt top! Feel free to send me parcels like that ANY TIME Jill Maree
Nanette sent in these gorgeous June BOMs - how pretty are they!
These ones are definitely from Sally S
These blocks come from Teresa who follows us and contributes all the way from the USA!
Shona, a first time Aussie Hero contributor made these blocks! Thanks Shona!
This quilt top came from Louise but check out the backing she also pieced!
Too cute! Love it! And yes it is for a girl!
Another of Louise's quilt tops
and a third
There was one more of Louise's quilt top and backing sets but it is too distinctive to show on the blog till it has been received.
This lovely Aussie quilt top came from Julie
These two gorgeous quilt tops are both from Sue N from SA. Sue's daughter is currently deployed and told her mum about us. You know how much I love scrap quilts so you can imagine how much I love these little bits of eye candy! I may hang one over the door in my office to enjoy while I wait till it is quilted!
That is all for tonight folks!
Till next time............keep spreading the word and happy stitching! JMxx
