This blog is dedicated to encouraging people to make quilts and laundry bags to send to Aussie service men and women currently serving overseas and to express our gratitude for their service. We care about the people - not the politics or the mission.
Our quilts are not works of art, but works of the heart.
Woo Hoo!!! Our first Weekly Dispatches for 2014! 8 quilts this week and 12 laundry bags.
Surprisingly that makes!
8 quilts and 12 laundry bags for 2014.
2373 quilts and 3742 laundry bags in total.
5 bags from Brisbane Laundry Bag Challenge were sent off this week.
Chelly created these quilt tops and they were quilted by Belinda
I received this photo last night - don't you love it! I can see a quilt by Lynn, and one by Kaye's group. It is too hard for me to identify them all but if you see one you recognise please can you let me know so that I can send you a high res copy of the picture.
You will have to bear with me tonight and tomorrow as I have had a visitor for the last week and we have been madly sewing and plotting and having a ball. Angela, from Brisbane, came to visit on New Year's Eve and we have been up to all sorts of mischief.
Before the movie Angela was too cool to pose with Olaf!
But after the movie!
This morning we headed off on a road trip to visit a recipient of ours who has become a great friend, even though we had not met till today. We are spending tonight and tomorrow morning with him and his wife (not sure they knew what they were in for) and then on the way home we are stopping off in Berry to visit Elizabeth at her quilt shop Berry Patchwork.
Photos on Monday if we are allowed to. No promises.
Don't be surprised if Friday and Saturday emails are not answered straight away - I think I might be busy! Maybe a little sand around!!!
Till next time ......................keep spreading the word and happy stitching! JMxx and Miss Axxx
