So how is life in this new COVID era treating you. I hope you are all
finding the silver linings and focusing on the positives. I am reading some lovely positive stories on
Facebook every night before I go to sleep and I find them so encouraging and
inspiriing. Not being able to leave home because I am in self-isolation is
frustrating as I can’t personally thank those who are making life possible for
the rest of us so I am having to find other ways to express my gratitude. One
of those is sewing for our serving men and women. I hope
you are finding it a comfort and a positive experience through all this as
well.

Laundry
bags –
If you don’t have what you need to take on a personalised LB then please
make a random bag or two. I have a plan
for the Random bags but you will have to be prepared to post them to me or to
another Aussie address. This is not free
sadly.
I had hoped to have the details for you this week but due to the workload
that COVID-19 has placed on so many of our service people it takes a while to
get new processes set up. Please bear with me.
Quilts
–
There is a great mix of quilts on the request list.
I haven’t had time to separate them into simple and more complex but I think
you will be able to sift through them and find something you like. There are
plenty of simple ones on the list that just need a badge or crest or maybe a
couple with some text that I can have embroidered and sent to you.
Some are team-based requests and just need the
colours, maybe with a service crest added.
There are a number of requests that ask for a bunch
of badges and some text. I can send you the badges and the text can be
embroidered and then you can just create your quilt around them. Simples…
Your quilts can be simple squares or strips but
please do not resort to quilting one large piece of fabric as a topper. If
there is one thing we will mostly have in abundance over the next few weeks it
is going to be time, so blocks and strips or other pieced designs are the order
of the day please.
PLEASE note the date and let me know if you have any problems getting
your quilt/LB away on time. In fact, if you are going to be late posting it
please let me know BEFORE you post it. Also, if this time frame is too
tight for you, there are options, just email me to discuss.
IF
YOU CANNOT GET TO THE POST OFFICE
If you cannot get to the Post Office and do not have someone who can go
for you, then I still encourage you to keep sewing. You never know,
there may be someone in your area who can pick up your mail from your front
door (no contact) and deliver it to the PO for you. We can at least try
that. LET ME KNOW
