Granny Maud's Girl...... special offer just for us...

How good is this!!

Carla of Granny Maud’s Girl is offering our makers 50% off her “Australia” and “Squadron Leader” patterns to help us with our efforts making quilts and laundry bags for our service men and women. Both are priced in her Etsy store at $12 but will be available to active members of our team at 50% off.

Email me for the code.

The “Australia” pattern is for a 6- or 12-inch block that is foundation paper pieced. It looks tricky, but it comes together far more easily than you would think once you get the knack of foundation piecing. The block can also be scaled up or down to different sizes. To prove the point, Carla made herself a 4-inch version as a pincushion. The map is also a great scrap-busting project as you only need small amounts of colourful fabrics to create the map’s mosaic-like design.

In addition, Carla has a free template and tutorial for a correctly proportioned Union Jack, which finishes at 15 by 7½ inches. If you add more background fabric and applique some stars, you can make our flag at 30 by 15 inches. Scaling it up or down is also possible. The Union Jack is also a good practice piece if you want to learn how to foundation pieced before trying the map.

“Squadron Leader” is a baby quilt that features aeroplanes and includes two layout ideas. Several quilters have upscaled by sewing more blocks to make a single bed size. The 12-inch blocks feature an aeroplane on the diagonal. The blocks are sewn using a combination of templates and rotary cutting and are slightly oversized before being trimmed to a perfect 12½ inches. Carla is happy to help plan larger versions if you need ideas or help with quilting maths.

The two patterns are available in her Etsy store

Get on and have a look and a huge thank you to Carla!

What a lovely way to support us supporting the troops.

Please Note..
To be considered an active member of our team, and therefore eligible for this discount you need to have sewn for us in the last six months. Thank you for understanding.

Till next time ...... keep spreading the word and happy stitching!
