Introducing New Chaplains to Aussie Hero Quilts

Oftentimes my Points of Contact in the various locations are the chaplains. Over the last 6 years I have worked with a lot of our Navy, Army and Air Force Chaplains, both on deployment and back here in Australia.

Since last year we have been presenting each new Chaplaincy Course with personalised laundry bags as an introduction to Aussie Heroes. They receive "an Aussie Heroes" experience and it gives me the opportunity to give them the run down on what we do and why and also, perhaps, most importantly, how we can work with them.

On Tuesday I presented laundry bags to the latest "batch" of chaplains... my collective term, probably not the correct one.

Also pictured in this photo are two of our previous recipients who proudly brought their laundry bags in to share as well. One of the female chaplains also has her quilt hanging proudly in her office.

These chaplains were really delighted to be on the receiving end of one of our laundry bags. They were all collectively taken aback too.

I think the most surprised was the visiting Canadian Chaplain, the Chief Instructor of the Canadian Chaplains College.  He was also taken aback and really delighted with his laundry bag.   He said that it would be mentioned in his travel report.

Good luck to all our new chaplains as they head out to minister to our sailors, soldiers, airmen and airwomen.

Till next time.... keep spreading the word and happy stitching!

  1. God bless them all and their ministries! It was such a blessing to me to be able to send a quilt and laundry bag to one chaplain and a laundry bag to another chaplain more recently.
