Made With Love and Care......by Will Moody

One of our quilters is married to a talented Bush Poet called Will. After reading the transcription of my speech from the dinner in October, Will write this for us.    How lovely is this?

ADF Postmaster, Sydney ...

Please send this to Afghanistan. Nights there, I hear, can chill.
It’s dreadful that our servicemen and women serve there still.
Perhaps this quilt in green and gold will warm a soldier’s heart
to know we think of him, back home, although we’re far apart.

Or maybe a submariner at night beneath the foam
will find, wrapped in this gift from me, some comfort far from home.
Perhaps an airman over there, when he bunks down at night,
will find this gift that shows we care a warm and welcome sight.

Will know that there is someone, even though we’ve never met,
who knows how much they’re missing home; is thinking of them yet.
It may not be a medal, may not be what some call art ...
it’s a ‛thank you for your service’ and it comes right from the heart.

We quilt for Aussie Heroes and it’s something that we do
to show with gifts that we’ve hand-made how much we value you.
We come from many backgrounds, but the one thing we all share

is that we want you all to know ... you’re heroes ... and we care.

Written by Will Moody.

Thanks so much Will.
