Aussie Heroes Embellish-ed

The lovely people from Embellish Magazine have published a great four page article about Aussie Heroes in their latest issue. Please get a copy and check it out and let them know you appreciate their support.

They have created a wonderful four page spread.

There are lots of other interesting articles in there too so I hope you enjoy it.

Quite a few of you have asked me to share the results of my weekend away. I had a wonderful time and if you are looking for a great break away in a creative environment with great teachers and organisers I don't think you can go past the Berry Quilt Retreat.

I did a two day workshop with the amazing Ro Bruhn!  I might be a quilter but I have made jewellery before and figured the change would be a break.   I had a ball.  I met lovely ladies, made new friends and ended up with two pieces of nostalgic jewellery to wear... well three as I also made matching ear-rings, just forgot to photograph them.

These beads are made using a small piece of the poppy fabric that I managed to salvage from the house and a piece of one of David's old ties. The green beads are malachite..... and used to belong to my mother - a heart shaped pendant and a string of beads that was very heavy to wear.

And a quick update on the house.... I had another meeting prior to the plans being drawn up for council.  I am very excited about the way things are heading.   Our house will have much the same footprint as the old one but inside there will be several changes. I am looking at this as an opportunity to change the house to suit the way we use it NOW as opposed to how we used to use it when we moved in several years ago.  These are changes that we would never have bothered to make beforehand. Now we have the opportunity.   If we are really lucky, and if we all keep our collective fingers and toes crossed, hopefully we will see the building actually start in Janary some time.....

Till next time..............keep spreading the word and happy stitching!
