Bags for Cairns

This is what one hundred and seventy laundry bags looks like.

I have been stock-piling bags made by lots of different people over the last couple of months.  These were made by Joan, Sue G, the West Pennant Hills ladies, the Penrith ladies, the ladies from the Kieraville CWA and many others, too many to list, but all wonderful contributors to Aussie Heroes.

Yesterday Clarissa came for two hours and these were all packed ready to be sent off to our patrol boats and hydrography boats based in Cairns.   They will be  headed of tomorrow.   Once they arrive that will mean that all the vessels in Cairns will have been catered for.

Job well done ladies.   The feedback so far has been incredibly positive - the bags have been very much appreciated.

Now I have a new target in my sights,  I will be aiming to get laundry bags to all the vessels currently based in Darwin.   Let's see how long that takes us.

Sorry this is so short but this is a bit of a busy week.   This blog will go to air at 4pm.  The Investiture Ceremony that I am privileged to be part of will have started at 3pm.   I will tell you all about it in tomorrow night's blog post.

Till then......................keep spreading the word and happy stitching!
