Sunday

Hi All,
I don't normally post pics of the quilts when we received some thank you messages but we needed some colour in tonight's post so I thought I would re-post a couple.

If you are waiting for me to reply to an email tonight please bear with me if I do not get back to you tomorrow.  I have been out all day today at our Penrith Sewing Day and am heading out for dinner soon so might have to reply to you tomorrow.

For now you can sit back and enjoy some of the lovely thank you messages we have received in the last couple of days from some of our happy customers.

Dear Julie Ann, (from HMAS Toowoomba)
Thank you so much for the quilt and laundry bag, they are absolutely wonderful. they are going to great use already.
The quilt is going to be one of those things passed down in our family.

Hi Jan,
Last night I received the Aussie Hero Quilt and I would like to say a huge thank you the quilt is perfect and has made my week. I would like to thank yourself and everyone involved with Aussie Hero Quilts for the support, gifts and time you provide members of the Australian Defence Force, it is greatly appreciated and will be remembered for many years to come.

Dear Linda
Please forgive me for not writing in letter form, however, I was only provided your email address for correspondence purposes.
This email is a small token of our great appreciation for the laundry bags (and Tim Tams/Lollies) you recently mailed to members of Multi-National Base Command - Tarin Kot (MNBC-TK).
Its amazing that things such as receiving mail make a person's day over here and your laundry bags were a welcome surprise and are being put to good use by the Air Force personnel who make up MNBC-TK.

One for Jennifer B

Thankyou so much for the quilt and laundry bag, they're amazing!  Only a few weeks 'til I'm home for the birth of the next bub, then back here for one little stint....It's great to have something to remind me of XXXX and all the family back home.

Dear Ruth

I can't thank you enough for the amazing quilt and laundry bag you sent me. I was blown away by how you managed to incorporate all my likes into one beautiful quilt.  Indeed, I was quite surprised that I managed to get it safely back to my room, given the admiring glances of a number of my colleagues! We were all very taken by it and it now has pride of place in my room. Your quilt is a work of art and something I will treasure always.

This is my first deployment, but my brother has deployed before, and I know how difficult it can be, both for the individual and for the family at home waiting for their loved one to come home safe.   As a sibling of a soldier, however, I must say it is incredibly comforting to see just how wonderfully supported our deployed personnel are by the Australian public.  From incredible initiatives like ‘Aussie Hero Quilts’ to the sheer volume of letters and parcels over Christmas, we are truly blessed and I thank you again for your contribution to this.
With affection,

Hi Donna (S),
I just want to say thank you so much for the awesome quilt!!!  It really made my day receiving it in the post and I was very touched by your lovely words and sentiments. I showed another girl here your work and she was also impressed with the quilt.
Once again thank you for the hard work you put into the quilt, it is definitely something I will use and keep forever.
Kind regards,

Dear Deborah,
Thank you so much for the quilt, it could not have arrived at a better time nor contain a more precious message.
I am not allowed to send you a picture at the moment but as soon as I am able I will be sure to send you one of the amazing place your handiwork has traveled to.
I wish I could thank you in person for the wonderful gift you have given me and If I am ever in the  XXXXXX area I will be sure to do so.
May God continue to bless you and your family in so many ways as you have blessed me and mine with your generosity and kindness
regards

You can't see it but this quilt was made with a bible verse in it as we learned that this fellow would like to become a Chaplain in the fullness of time.

Evelyn
Thank you, just doesn't seem to be enough to show my appreciation for
the time, detail and love that has gone into making the beautiful quilt
and laundry bag that you have sent me but many thanks anyway.
I didn't realise that there were so many
caring and thoughtful people in Australia that take the time to put
together packages to send to people they do not know and more than
likely will never meet.
This quilt more than brightened my day and allowed me to feel a little
bit closer to home.
Please accept my sincere thanks for your thoughtfulness. You certainly
made my day so much better and it has definitely inspired me to
volunteer and help others.
Best wishes and good luck to you and your family in the future,

I haven't shared a pic of the quilt that Evelyn sent to this woman as Evelyn made two similar quilts and I can't remember which one went to this recipient without me doing a lot of back tracking and there just isn't time tonight.

Joan and Rob,

Many thanks for your gift it arrived today (Auspost still slow), the laundry bag was absolutely brilliant and such a nice touch.  I can not thank you enough for your time and effort in bringing a smile to my face.  The gift is so nice, that I do not want to put it to use.  The laundry system is here to serve a purpose and that is to wash your cloths, at what temperature no one knows.  But I do know, it is probably on boil wash, T-shirts are shorter and socks that were once wool now feel like scrubbing pads.

Hope this e-mail finds you well?  Once again, many thanks for what you do in support of us over here, it is much appreciated.

The following two thank you messages are sent to me because when Nancy sends of her quilts she puts only my details on, that is how humble she is.

Dear Jan-Maree
The quilt has arrived anonymously and it is just beautiful.
I feel so very honoured to have received such a generous and lovingly crafted gift.
Please pass on my delight and thankfulness for their efforts
Fond regards

Hi Jan-Maree,
thought I would send you an e-mail to let you know I received my quilt and laundry bag today.  Please pass on my many thanks to the quilter who made it, words cannot describe how pleased I was to receive it and with the motorcycle design I had requested, it is absolutely awesome and the envy of my cabin mates. Many thanks again
Regards

I have finally decided to block all noreply bloggers from making comments on the blog as we are getting too much spam.  These are just people who do not have a google profile or if they do they do not have an email address registered so when they send a comment it is emailed to me as a noreply blogger and I can not response to them.  So, if you are a no-reply blogger (Sue N you are one - did you know?) from now on your comments will be sent to junk mail automatically and I won't see them.  If you want to know how to change from being a no-reply blogger just go to this post, scroll down to the bottom and follow the instructions there.

Before I go this Guiness drinking Leprechaun popped in to wish you a Happy St Patrick's Day

Till next time.....................keep spreading the word and happy stitching!
