Quilts Of The Week 7 Sep

517 Quilt 528 Laundry Bags
YAY!!!

Well it has been a big week!  Lots of new followers and lots of quilts heading off to their new owners.  Grab a cuppa and enjoy the show!

Edith's quilt top quilted by Carol

The next three are by Chris from SA.

Caroline made these two laundry bags
(cool sharks!)

and this great quilt.

Linda sent this off a little earlier but had to wait to be able to send me a picture.

This is the matching Laundry Bag.

Sue and Aileen from SA worked on these laundry bags together and sent them off this week.

Cat made this gorgeous quilt - love these colours.

Can't say any more but this lovely quilt by Gail has gone off
to someone who really needs a quilty hug!

These blocks were also made by Cat and assembled here at AHQ Headquarters.

These next few pics of laundry bags were made all over the place and have been sent off to HMAS ANZAC for those that didn't get lucky in the lottery for the quilts.

 Miranda made this gorgeous quilt.

This quilt was a joint effort - pieced by Judith, quilted by me and then bound by Judith.

Nancy and her wonderful crew of helpers sent these 19 quilts off this week.

Angella P you might recognize a couple of your quilt tops in here.

And finally these two wounded Warrior Quilts headed off to be there when needed.
This one was made my Pamela and I, though Pam did most of the finishing once we got it to flimsy stage.

This one was made by Carol from Turramurra.

You might remember that Caroline and I collaborated on this Southern Cross Quilt and placed  a copy of the pattern on the blog.  Well it has arrived at it's destination and today we heard back from the recipient whose wife I met when shopping.
By the way - he is a Tigers Fan!

Thank you for the quilt and laundry bag that I recently received from Aussie Hero Quilts, I had never heard of you prior to this and was very pleasantly surprised when my tiger colored gear arrived, I now have no worries locating my laundry in the shared facility. The designs are fantastic and I am so glad that my wife bumped into Jan-Maree, and honored that you deemed me worthy of such a gift and would like to thank you for your efforts in supporting the troops over here, it means a lot to us to know that people believe in the work we are doing.

I reckon that is the end of a pretty good week!  Don't you?

And just before I go - a big Welcome Home to Chelle - our lovely postmistress from Egypt who has been on facebook and is buying a sewing machine!!!

and if you are new and don't know what I am talking about, check this this out! Till next time..........keep spreading the word and happy stitching!

  1. I think you understated the cuppa....it should've been, fill the coffee pot, and make sure the iron's off....wowwee, what a bumper stock of pics to feast our eyes upon tonight.

Well done everyone....love the dolphin quilt, someone is going to feel very spoilt when they get that little beauty in the mail.

Laundry bags have over taken the quilts on the target ladder....hmmmmm might have to work at rectifying that lol

    Hugs

  3. Love looking at the finishes- its a bit like playing 'I spy' and recognising different fabric from different ranges. Gotta love that wine bottle laundry bag!
